To ensure you get good value for money and are taught by an instructor with the skill and experience to offer a structured and indepth course it is wise to check the credentials of those offering courses.
My name is Paula and I teach all of our courses personally. I am a qualified PMC Instructor with both Levels 1 and 2 Certification. This is my fourth year teaching courses in metal clay and combined with over 9 years experience producing and selling jewellery which I have created using both traditional silversmithing techniques and metal clays I feel I have the understanding and background knowledge to provide a course that stands out from the rest. The day is packed full of additional information, tips and tricks used in the jewellery making business including how to make your own sterling silver earring fittings, jumprings and head pins etc. The workshop is purpose built and fully equipped with two Paragon kilns, soldering station and more texture mats and cutters than even I have had the opportunity to use. In fact I'd probably hazard a guess that I've got the best selection of mats and cutters that you are likely to find on any course in the country. I only teach in small groups (minimum 2 maximum 6) so there is ample opportunity for individual attention. Students are encouraged to ask questions and the atmosphere is informal and relaxed.
Courses are structured as a full day run on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday from 10am until 6pm with the exception of the New Extended Fingerprint Course which is one and a half days. I also offer tuition on a one-to-one basis as weekday sessions of five hours (10am until 3pm). These sessions are by arrangement so give me a call on 01825 722428 if you are interested.
Here is a list of all the courses that I currently offer. The frequency of which they are run is determined by demand. In addition to the materials supplied with each course, as specified below, the courses also include the use of all tools and equipment required, a complimentary pair of earring fittings, jumprings and two lengths of suede so you can wear all your masterpieces home. In fact all you need to bring with you is your lunch!
